Description
This is the large design on the back of a sweatshirt hoody jumper I have made in this first year of A levels for Textiles.

The design was drawn by me - the swirly pattern and the girl were drawn seperate. The girl is my 'manga' element (apart from the black and white theme) of the jumper, and is based on one of my favourite manga's of all time, Air Gear. I used ~yola-bear's beautiful photograph, Jump, as reference for the girl - go check it out and fave!! I added the word Freedom because it is what I strive for most in this world - a silly dream, I know. I then drew the swirly pattern thinking of elegance and celtic/ mechanical. I scanned both the drawings in and cut and pasted the swirly picture around the girl until I was happy with the positioning.

I took the design in to an embroidery shop where I had it embroidered to the back fabric piece of the jumper (this is VERY expensive, do NOT take machine embroidery lightly!). When the process was done I sewed rose coloured czech glass seed beads (bought from this cute shop: [link]) to all the dot lines from the drawing. This is an extremely long process. On the big design alone I probably spent around 6 hours solid, perhaps more, sewing the beads on. It can be pretty tough on the fingers and wrist too.
Other info
I have two smaller designs on the sleeves of the jumper which I may upload photos of to this deviation once I have finished beading them tonight. They are based on the main design for continuity purposes.
The large design and the two small designs on the sleeves cost £90 to be machine embroidered. The rose coloured czech glass seed beads cost £1. The drawing of the girl and the swirly pattern was priceless. All in a days work, I suppose (or... several ).
I used a jumper my sister gave me as the template for the pattern pieces of my jumper - thanks sis! :3
This jumper is NOT for sale purposes. It is a personal project (within a school project) and I will keep and wear this jumper myself (heck, my dad would go balistic if I didn't after paying half of the £90 )
Thankyou for reading
